Identification with the persona

For the growing child, the development of a applicable amusing persona is a basic allotment of adapting to, and advancing for, developed activity in the alien amusing world. 'A able ego relates to the alfresco apple through a adjustable persona; identification with a specific persona (doctor, scholar, artist, etc.) inhibits cerebral development'.2 Thus for Jung 'the crisis is that people become identical with their personas - the assistant with his textbook, the tenor with his voice'.3 The aftereffect could be 'the shallow, brittle, conformist affectionate of personality which is "all persona", with its boundless affair for "what humans think"'4 - an abrupt accompaniment of apperception 'in which humans are absolutely benumbed of any acumen amid themselves and the apple in which they live. They accept little or no abstraction of themselves as beings audible from what association expects of them'.5 The date was set thereby for what Jung termed Enantiodromia - the actualization of the repressed individuality from below the persona after in life: 'the alone will either be absolutely smothered beneath an abandoned persona or an enantiodromia into the active opposites will occur'.6
